Newer homes, builder-grade locks
A lot of Homestead was rebuilt after Hurricane Andrew in 1992, and much of it has been built since, in new subdivisions spreading west and south. New construction often comes with builder-grade hardware, the same lock and key on hundreds of houses in a phase, handed to the builder, subcontractors and the sales office before you. Rekeying on move-in is the single most useful thing a new Homestead homeowner can do for security.
The Redland: gates, sheds and padlocks
Nurseries, groves and rural lots in the Redland mean gates, pump houses, sheds and barns, often padlocked, often exposed to sun, rain and fertilizer. Cheap padlocks rust shut. We can open, replace and key them alike so one key runs the property, and recommend weather-resistant padlocks that last outdoors.
Visiting the parks
Homestead is the gateway to Everglades and Biscayne National Parks. Locked your keys in the car at a trailhead or the marina? Call us with exactly where you are. Some park locations are a long drive, and the park may have its own rules for service vehicles, so we'll tell you honestly how long it will take.
Car keys without a tow
Out here, "tow it to the dealer" can mean a long, expensive tow. For most vehicles we can cut and program a new key at the car. Check the key finder first, and have ID and registration or title ready.
Pricing
Every job is quoted before dispatch.
Other factors: the lock or hardware, the vehicle and key type, complexity, the time, your location and any parts. The price on the phone is the price at the door: quoted before dispatch, approved before work begins. How our pricing works.
