Typical storefront failures
Narrow-stile aluminum doors use a specific kind of lock (often called an Adams Rite-style deadlatch) and a mortise cylinder. On a busy door, the latch wears, the cylinder loosens, and the closer stops pulling the door fully shut, so it no longer latches. We diagnose which part failed and fix that, instead of replacing everything.
Door closers
A door that slams, drifts open or won't latch usually needs a closer adjustment. Leaking closers need replacement. We match the closer to the door size and traffic. On exit doors the closer and the panic bar have to work together, so we check both.
Scheduling around your business
We start at 7 AM Sunday to Friday, so most storefront work is finished before you open. For a lock that fails at closing time, call and we'll tell you honestly how soon we can be there.
What affects the price
- Part that failed (deadlatch, cylinder, closer)
- Door condition and alignment
- Hardware grade
- Scheduling before opening
The price on the phone is the price at the door. We quote the total before dispatch and you approve it before work begins. If something changes once we see the lock, we stop and tell you first.
- Lock or hardware typeA standard deadbolt, a high-security cylinder and a smart lock are different jobs.
- Vehicle and key typeMake, model and year; mechanical, transponder, remote or push-to-start key.
- ComplexityOpening a latch vs. a thrown deadbolt; one cylinder vs. a whole building.
- TimeEvening and short-notice work can cost more than a scheduled daytime visit.
- LocationHow far the nearest technician has to drive, and access (gates, garages).
- Required partsCylinders, locks, key blanks, chips and fobs, itemized on the invoice.
